The Foundation of the Lodge

Bromwic Lodge was founded in the early years of post war austerity and was almost certainly the brainchild of Wor. Bro H B Millichip, P.P.G.D.

He, and certain other senior members of the Walton Walker Lodge, No. 3847, felt that having 86 members was resulting in too long a wait to attain office. There was, thus, ample justification for the formation of another lodge in West Bromwich to be subsequently known as the Bromwic Lodge, No. 6773.

The consecration and constitution meeting was held at the Masonic Hall, Edward Street, on the 6th May 1949, just nine weeks after the reopening of the lodge room which had sustained damage by enemy action during the second world war.
